The Lincoln College Men’s basketball team placed 3 members on the All-Conference team. Chris Ware was named to the first team of the MWAC and also captured Player of the Year honors. Kenyon Smith, an Illinois State signee was selected to the second team, and Kiel Turpin, a freshman, was selected to the third team.
Chris Ware, a Pre-Season All-American, conference statistics 15.5 pts, 7.8 rebounds, 78% FT, 59.8% FG. Kenyon Smith conference statistics 12.1ppg, 5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 45%FG, 45%3-pt FG, 72.5%FT, 2.41 steals. Kiel Turpin conference statistics 11.3 pts, 7.6 rebounds, 58.5% FG and 2.3 blocks.
The Lynx finished the year 24-6 (14-2) and just won the Region 24A Championship to push their record to 26-6. The team will travel to Danville, IL to compete in the NJCAA National Tournament, which starts on Tuesday, March 16th. The brackets will be available online at www.njcaa.org.
