Milan, IL – The Lincoln College women’s golf team opened up their fall season at Highland Springs Golf Course in Milan, IL over the weekend in a two-day tournament hosted by Augustana College.  The Vikings came away with the lowest two-day team score to win their own event.

The Lynx were led by Jenah Thompson’s (Mason City) two-day total of 185, good enough to finish in 28th place.  Amber Bausch (Moline, IL) was a consistent 188, shooting 94 each day.  Lincoln High School’s Jaylee Swinford shot a personal best in her first collegiate tournament with a 99 on day one and finished at 205.  Anna Walters (Lincoln, IL) shot a 224.  The Lynx shot a two-day total 802 as a team.

The Lynx head coach Carol Wilson said, “These ladies are only going to get better as the season progresses.   Each of them walked off the course knowing what they need to work on as they prepare for their next round on September 9th at The Links in Jacksonville.”

The Illinois College Invite on September 9 will begin at 12:00pm and will be played at The Links Golf Course in Jacksonville, IL.
