With the launch of the Embracing Our Past, Empowering Our Future Campaign for Lincoln College, it is difficult to adequately convey in a letter the excitement and enthusiasm we feel as Lincoln College moves forward in this next phase of our history.
For more than a century and a half, students have found in Lincoln College a nurturing, rewarding and challenging institution that inspires them to reach inside and develop their full potential.
With the enthusiastic support of the Board of Trustees and with a huge leap of faith, Lincoln College is returning to our roots as a four-year degree granting institution. At the same time, we are respecting and continuing our longstanding commitment to offer two-year degrees to students who find that a four-year
college career does not meet their needs. We fully anticipate that many of these students, once they have found their home at Lincoln College, will be inspired to complete their bachelor’s degrees.
The truth is, without strong support, Lincoln College cannot succeed. While the path is clear and the goal is within reach, we must invest now in order to assure that Lincoln College can continue its mission for at least another century and a half.
Today, colleges of all sizes and types face many challenges and Lincoln College is no exception. The Lincoln College tradition of serving students of all backgrounds has positioned the college well for the coming century. As demographic and social changes require institutions to adapt to a new generation of students, Lincoln College has been at the forefront. We are proud that our enrollment is growing at a time when many schools are struggling to retain students.
We also take great pride in the role that Lincoln College plays in the region. With a $40 million annual impact, Lincoln College is an economic engine. Funds contributed to Lincoln College cascade throughout the community, generating new jobs and investment and building a better future for all.
As we move forward, we cannot adequately express our deep appreciation to our many friends who have pledged their support to our efforts. Indeed, it is with great pleasure that even before the public unveiling of the Campaign for Lincoln College, we have exceeded the half way mark!
While there are many options for donors to consider, we want to emphasize that this new phase in our history requires great flexibility. Lincoln College has much to do to adequately position itself for new students, new degree offerings, new infrastructure and new support services. As a result, contributions to
the unrestricted Lincoln Fund represent a generous vote of confidence in the administration of the college that is deeply appreciated and respected.
We hope that you’ll take a few minutes to read about the campaign and consider how you might join us in supporting the Embracing Our Past, Empowering Our Future Campaign for Lincoln College. Regardless of how you may choose to give to the Campaign for Lincoln College, we appreciate that your gift is an investment that will enable future generations to follow confidently in the footsteps of generations of Lincoln College graduates.
