Courage can take many forms: some may standing up to a bully, speaking in front of a crowd, helping someone in need, fighting to change a social injustice, running for a political office, or even fighting for your country. During the mid to late 19th century, there were some people who stood out for their strong displays of courage. President Lincoln showed courage using his words and intellect, soldiers showed courage through their fighting will, abolitionists and anti-slavery activists stood up for social injustice against those in bondage, and working men and women spoke out against gender inequality and working conditions. Those lovers of liberty took courage. How can we display acts of courage in our own lives?
This exhibit opened February 13th, 2017 and runs to December 8th, 2017.
