Coach Herron said, “This was an important meet for us in many ways. The most important way at this point is that we learned we have to run our own races. To many of our athletes went out too fast and it had a huge impact on their performances. Another important lesson they learned is that the race can feel like it speeds up the second half of the race and they have to be ready for that. This is also where we will have our Region 24 meet so it was very valuable for them to really know the course for when we come back here in October. I know that when we compete here again they will show significant signs of improvement.”
The team will race again on September 16 at the Bradley Intercollegiate in Peoria, IL at 5:00pm.
