LC Volleyball Fall to #3 Parkland

On Wednesday, the Lincoln College Volleyball team traveled to Parkland College for their first Region/Conference match of the year and were defeated by the nationally ranked Cobras (#3) in straight sets, 12-25, 17-25, 8-25.  LC’s record fell to 2-7 on the season.

Match Totals:
Latasha Fizer 4 kills, 1 point
Morgan Lesher 3 blocks, 4 points
Jenna Harcharik 1 kills, 2 blocks
Jessa Coker 6 set assists, 5 digs
Taylor Hewitt 15 digs

LC Coach Mark Tippett: Parkland kept the pressure on us tonight with consistent serving and by keeping the ball in play.  Our passing game never got on track which made it very hard for us to gain control of the volley.  Our blocking was a bright spot for us tonight as well as our own ability to serve consistently.  We just need to pass a lot better if we want to compete with the top teams in our Region.  It is still very early in the season though, and I am confident we can make the adjustments necessary to do much better against them the next time we play.

This weekend the Lady Lynx will play their first home matches of the season as they host the fourth annual Hampton Inn Classic.  Lincoln will play matches at 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm on Friday and at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm on Saturday.
