LC Women’s Soccer Open Up With Road Loss

The Lincoln College women’s soccer team started the season with exhibitions against Blackburn College and Robert Morris-Peoria. The lynx defeated Blackburn 5-3 then followed the victory with a 12-0 win over Robert Morris. Several of the ladies contributed to the Lynx’s 12 goals.

The ladies started off region play on 9/3 at Kaskaskia College. The Lynx went down 3-0 at halftime and ended the game with a 7-1 loss.  Sophomore Cassidy Jennings got the Lynx on the board in the second half.

Coach Weekly’s remarks: “We started off the season on a good note, beating two four-year schools. We knew going into region play that we would be playing much stronger opponents and Kaskaskia showed us today how strong our region is. Today’s game was a good test for us and a good opportunity to identify some of our weaknesses.  We had several goal scoring opportunities and just got unlucky. I am proud of how the ladies battled the full 90 minutes and we look forward to getting back to training to address some of our shortcomings.”
