Ogelsby, IL – On Thursday, the Lincoln College women’s volleyball team visited Illinois Valley CC in Ogelsby, IL for their final regular season match of the year and came home with their 20th victory in three sets. IVCC hung with the Lady Lynx most of the way in each set, but LC’s height advantage at the net and consistency behind the service line proved to be too much for the Lady Eagles. Twenty-two total blocks on the evening helped Lincoln take the first set 25-20, the second 25-21 and a kill down the line by freshman right side hitter Colbi Schertz (Tiskilwa, IL) gave Lincoln a 25-19 win in set three to end the match. Lincoln’s final regular season record is 20-13.

LC Coach Mark Tippett: I am very pleased with where we are at at the end of the regular season. It was evident tonight that all of our players have improved their skills this year and that we play well as a team. Our front line was able to control the net most of the match and we made smart decisions on offense. That is a tough combination to beat and one that I hope to continue to see in the post season.
Lincoln has the #5 seed in the Region 24 Postseason tournament which begins next Wednesday evening, November 4.
