LC Coach Mark Tippett: We gained some valuable experience at this extremely competitive event. I was very pleased by the growth we have shown as a team and how quickly our young players are adjusting to the pace of the college game. Our serve receive was rough on Friday, and an injury to starting libero Brighton Robbins did not help matters, but our passers improved a lot on day two. Better control of the first contact made a huge difference in our ability to side out. Once we started to get a consistent pass, our offense became more balanced and we were able to use our middle hitters effectively. The Rock Valley match was very intense. Both teams played hard and made each other work for every point. To get a win in our first match to go five sets felt great and should be a nice confidence boost for our players.
