Lincoln College sophomores Mariana Rogers (Munster, IN) and Destiny Adkins (Metamora) received All-Region and All-Conference recognition this season. Rogers, the Lynx libero, was named 1st team All-Conference (MWAC) and 2nd team All-Region. Left side hitter Destiny Adkins was given honorable mention status for both All-Conference and All-Region teams. Rogers led the team in digs with 510, an average of 5.31 digs per set, while Adkins was the team’s leader in kills with 229 and recorded a .260 hitting percentage.
LC Coach Mark Tippett: Both of these players are extremely deserving of the recognition they received this year. Mariana was rock solid for us all year long at the libero position. She played with intensity and forced other teams to serve away from her in most every match. Destiny has always been a strong offensive player, but her defense and passing really improved this year. She dedicated herself to becoming a six rotation player and receiving these awards is proof of her success. Both of these young ladies are dedicated to success in the classroom as well which makes them wonderful examples of true student-athletes. I am very proud to have been their coach.
