Lincoln College is pleased to announce Mark Tippett will be the next Sports Information Director for Lincoln College.
“I am thankful for the opportunity to work with the Lincoln College coaching staff and Athletic Director Dave Klemm to highlight the great work being done by student-athletes at Lincoln College,” Tippett said. “I am also appreciative of the confidence the college has shown in me and my abilities by naming me Sports Information Director.”
“I’m very pleased that Mark will be joining our communications team on a permanent basis,” said Mark Gordon, Marketing and Public Relations Manager for Lincoln College. “During his tenure as a coach at Lincoln College, Mark has prepared the majority of articles that have been released with regard to the volleyball program as well as contributing written work for special projects related to other sports at Lincoln College. With a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s in education, Mark’s writing skills and experience as a college coach make him a natural fit for the sports information position.”
Tippett came to Lincoln College in 2001 as a part-time women’s volleyball coach. One year later, he became full-time where, in addition to coaching, he taught English Composition and Introduction to Education.
In 2008, Tippett took on the role of Social Sciences Division Chair. In 2015, Tippett left the academic side of the house to focus his attention on the continued success of the women’s volleyball program and the growth of the Lincoln College men’s club volleyball program which he established in 2014.
Both teams have experienced tremendous success on and off the court with Tippett not only coaching the teams, but serving his players in the role of academic advisor as well.
Tippett is a resident of Lincoln and he and his wife, Amy, have two daughters, April, age 13 and Hope, age 10. Amy Tippett teaches 4th grade at Central School in Lincoln.
