The Lynx women claimed the title as the Lincoln College track and field teams competed in the Bill Smith Invite hosted by Vincennes University, March 25. The Lynx men finished the invite with a strong third place showing, among the eight teams competing at the Indiana meet.
Placing in the top three for the ladies squad was Stacia Lee and Precious Anderson in the 100, they went first and second. Stacia Lee was also first in the 200.
In the 400, Apeasha Ashby and Amber Pierce were first and second. Carolyn Porter was third in the 100 hurdles. Hatiana Thomas and Carolyn Porter were second and third in the 400 hurdles. The 4×100 relay team of Apeasha Ashby, Taya Burse, Shaytavia Lowery and Stacia Lee captured first. Taya Burse was second in the long jump, while Shatavia Lowery was third in the triple jump. Carrissa Tinsley and Sralon Mack were second and third in the shot. Carrissa Tinsley was also first in the javelin and third in the discus.
Placing in the top three for the men’s team was Dontae Adams and Roman Hampton in the 100 meter, capturing second and third. In the 200 meter, Roman Hampton was second and Dontae Adams was third. John Smith was first in the 110 hurdles and second in the 400 hurdles. The 4×100 relay team of Kane Jackson, Roman Hampton, Tommie Van and Dontae Adams was second. The 4×400 relay team of Earl Armstrong, Roman Hampton, Tommie Van and Dwight Johnson placed third.
Sabree Bakari was second in the high jump and Courtney Cousey was second in the triple jump. Jonathan Riddle was third in the Discus and Deonta Johnson was secobnd in the javelin.
Up next for the Lynx, they will travel to Charleston, Ill, April 1, for the Eastern Illinois University Invite.
