Transcripts & Records

Lincoln College’s academic records were transferred to the State of Illinois after the College closed. All requests now go through the Illinois Board of Higher Education.

Requesting an official transcript

Effective October 24, 2022, former students of Lincoln College and the Midwest College of Cosmetology may request transcripts through the Illinois Board of Higher Education’s Degree Granting Closed Schools listing.

Visit the IBHE website and scroll down to the header reading “Student Transcript/Verification Request Form” to place your request.

Other records & requests

  • Degree verification for an employer

Employers and other institutions may verify a Lincoln College degree through the IBHE’s Student Transcript/Verification Request Form. Requests may also be sent through the contact form.

  • Is my Lincoln College degree still valid?

Yes. Lincoln College was regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Employers and other colleges and universities recognize a Lincoln College degree as a valid degree with full regional accreditation.

  • Course syllabi

Syllabi for courses taken at Lincoln College may be requested through the contact form. Please be as specific as possible — semester and year taken, course number and name, and instructor — as these details assist in locating the appropriate records.

  • Student health & counseling records

As of May 27, 2022, student health and personal counseling records are in the custody of Lincoln Memorial Hospital’s Department of Health Information Management. Contact LMH at 217-605-5570 if you need access to your health or counseling records.

  • What happened to my academic records?

Academic records were preserved and remain accessible after the College’s closure. They were transferred to the Illinois Board of Higher Education, which now administers all transcript and verification requests.
